This antique Edwardian fob is an exceptional mixed-metal piece, crafted in sterling silver with a raised 14k rose gold shield at its center. Hand-engraved scrollwork decorates the front, while the reverse bears an award inscription for the 3rd Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry, dated 1916. This distinguished British regiment served actively during World War I, giving the piece rare historical provenance and strong collector appeal.
Originally worn on a gentleman’s watch chain, the fob now makes a striking unisex pendant. The combination of sterling and rose gold gives it warmth and depth, while its military history lends a bold, slightly gothic character. Paired with our Italian-made sterling wheat chain, it becomes a comfortable, stylish necklace—perfect for layering or wearing as a standalone statement.
Victorian sterling book chains shown in some photos are sold separately.
Each necklace is finished to order in our Portland studio, where Michael hand-assembles your chosen chain length before shipping.
Shipped in a ribbon-wrapped gift box for a beautiful presentation or a meaningful treat for yourself.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer in-house sizing at this time.
Because each ring is unique in its age and construction, the ability to size varies by design and stone setting. Many pieces can be adjusted within two sizes, though this is only a general guideline.
We recommend having any sizing done by a trusted local jeweler, ideally one who uses a laser welder, as antique gold and historical settings often require specialized care.
If you’d like us to help coordinate third-party sizing for an additional fee, please reach out before purchasing.
Please note that all sizing performed by any jeweler or third party is at the buyer’s discretion and is non-refundable.
We are not GIA-certified gemologists, but we bring more than 25 years of combined experience in antique and fine jewelry, supported by ongoing study in gemstones, materials, and design. Every piece is examined carefully and described with accuracy and transparency.
When an item has been reviewed by our local GIA Graduate Gemologist, that assessment will be clearly noted in the listing.
